Organisational culture as a foundation of business success

In an age where business is becoming a reflection of the dynamics and values of society, organizational culture is a critical pillar of corporate success. It is not just a set of rules or traditions, but a living fabric that shapes a company's identity influences people's engagement, and directly impacts organizations' financial performance. In our conversation about aligning individual views with corporate values and understanding the role of leadership in cultivating a healthy work environment, we invited Petya Pavlova, People & Culture Partner on our team, to comment. How we advise companies when formulating positions and their packages

In a changing and increasingly competitive business world, companies are faced with the need to constantly adapt their compensation packages to different industry sectors and the growing expectations of employees. This process is not simply a matter of balancing finances and benefits but requires a deep understanding of market trends and individual workforce needs. From technology companies offering flexible working arrangements and innovative perks to financial institutions with a focus on financial incentives, the diversity in approaches is rich. To offer you a deeper insight into evaluating and adapting talent attraction and retention strategies, we invited Kaloyan Belichovsky, Operations Manager on our team, to provide expert commentary on the topic. About first level managers and their importance

Let me start by telling you a short story. Once upon a time there was a wonderful specialist. He was dedicated to his work, responsible to his colleagues, open to new knowledge and so one day the leadership team of the company he worked for decided to promote him. Done - done - the very Monday the wonderful specialist became a team leader. He accepted responsibility for six people (and two more to be hired, but there were no people and it was slow going) and everyone expected him to be a wonderful team leader. However, the days went by and the plans for a great team did not materialize. Three of his six members left, a number of projects were postponed or put on hold, and the wonderful former professional, now team leader, was practically on his own - working 16 hours a day, nervous and tired, and often falling asleep thinking that the promotion was actually one big trap by the company. The parallel worlds of rewards for new hires and veteran team members

In the dynamic corporate world, rewards for new hires and long-serving team members create an unusual paradox. On the one hand, new additions to the team attract attention with their fresh and relevant skills and need to be won over with a competitive offer. On the other hand, long-serving employees should be valued for their extensive experience, commitment, and stability in the job with the appropriate benefits package. This complex situation underscores the complexity in managing compensation and benefits packages in today's business so as to strike a balance between attracting new talent and meeting the needs of experienced team members. To bring further clarity to the situation and outline possible strategies for action, we invited Veronika Simova, Sales and Business Development Manager from our team to comment. Read more

Low Unemployment - High Expectations: Winning Strategies for Employers in a Talent-Driven Marketplace

Candidates' expectations are rising accordingly and require new strategies to attract and motivate them. We invited Konstantin Kamenov, Business Development and Sales Manager from our team, to share the best practices from the business world that employers apply in a talent-driven market. Read more

How AI helps to keep the focus on humans

Artificial Intelligence is entering more profound and deeper into our everyday lives. If until recently we have searched and synthesized information from countless different sources, now it is just a click away. We've shared before that our team recognized in this innovative technology an opportunity to streamline a number of processes and offload administrative tasks, allowing us to work more efficiently and deepen our focus on people. That's why we took the bold step to launch a partnership with the AI platform Eilla. Thus, we can proudly call ourselves the first HR company to integrate artificial intelligence into our daily operations. After the first pilot months of our partnership, we invited Nikola Lazarov, CEO and Co-Founder of Eilla, and Yoana Atanasova, Recruitment Consultant in Sales & Marketing, Finance & Administration, Pharma & Healthcare from our team to talk about the intersections between AI capabilities and HR needs. How did the "4-day workweek" win "Best HR Project for SME" for 2022 and how has Manpower changed since its introduction?

The award "Best HR Project for SME" for 2022 of the Bulgarian People Management Association, which our 4-day project received, led to many questions. Partners, journalists, friends, and curious strangers wrote to us wondering: "What were the challenges before the project?", "How did the teams in the company and the external partners react to the change?", "What do you report as the biggest positives of the new working model already a year after its introduction?" are perhaps the queries we receive most often. That's why we invited our internal engine, our People & Culture team in the face of our colleagues Maria Angelova and Petya Pavlova, who provide the framework, look for tools, and actively continue to adapt our environment, to tell how the concept of Free Friday became our reality. Just a few weeks ago, on 19 January this year, the Bulgarian Parliament adopted legislative changes to facilitate the process of applying for a Blue Card. In light of these changes, we invited our experts from the “International Mobility” team, Ivelina Petkova and Petar Todorov, to comment on the new conditions for businesses and analyse how they can effectively help address labour shortages in certain sectors. Database without borders –  how to build a talent pool of IT professionals from multiple countries?

The dynamic market of technological companies requires increasingly flexible solutions when it comes to identifying and attracting talents. The unprecedented growth in the volume of IT projects, the expansion of software and outsourcing companies, requires a new interpretation of the model of working with the best in this sector. There is a constant need for specialists, who in turn deliver high standards of service, but they are few in number. Bulgaria is one of the most preferred investment destinations for development, but negative demographic growth does not allow the labor market to respond to the colossal number of IT specialists that are in demand. There is practically no concept of unemployment in the IT sector. Talents in the field clearly define their preferences for a remote work model. What's more, they often turn down project proposals if the employer doesn't offer a work-from-anywhere option. Kristina Mileva, Team Manager "Sales & Business Development" at Manpower Bulgaria, shares more about the future of the IT professions now that borders are disappearing and the ocean of talents is growing. As our business rests upon people, all those who work in consulting within HR industry can testify that the service of candidate recruitment and selection was rarely a completed and clearly defined service, and today this "rarely" means usually never, or, at best, hardly ever. The service is more and more personalized and implies an adequate response to the increasingly specific needs of clients. When it comes to the same position in a competitive business, profiling an ideal candidate implies so fine requirements that the recruitment process for any position needs to be viewed as a project in itself. Talent-driven IT market - trends and challenges that will lead to lasting change

The IT sector is one of the least affected by the dynamics of the changing work processes in the last year and a half. We see a serious increase in the needs of this sector and, accordingly, in the demand for talent in the industry. The market principle, which states that demand determines supply, combined with the fact that there are more open positions in the labor market than there are specialists with the required skills, poses a huge challenge to IT companies in our country.
